SUTTON
Sutton calls itself the cleaner, greener borough and has adopted a tree as its symbol. It boasts more than 1,000 acres of open space, yet lies within a few miles of the heart of London, combining the best of city and country.
There is plenty to do and see in Sutton, from visiting beautiful parks and historic corners of the borough to the latest in multi screen cinemas, modern shopping facilities, 2 sports centres and a wide variety of places to eat and drink. Places of particular interest include Carew Manor, the Ecology Centre which is primarily concerned with the conservation of the natural environment and the Heritage Centre.
Sutton has some excellent shopping facilities, whether in the town centre or district centres of Cheam, Worcester Park, Rose Hill, Carshalton and Wallington. Sutton Town offers a safe, traffic free environment drawing shoppers from all over the southeast. There are two modern indoor shopping centres the St Nicholas Shopping Centre and Times Square Shopping Centre. Most of the major chain stores and represented and there are 2 supermarkets in the town centre Tesco & Safeway. There is an open-air market on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
